  • 3 pounds chuck beef (cut into 1-inch cubes)
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 8 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 4 cups beef stock
  • 2 stalks celery (chopped)
  • 4 large carrots (roughly chopped)
  • 3 medium Yukon gold potatoes (cut into cubes)
  • Fresh herbs (rosemary, thyme, bay leaf)

Instructions

  1. Season beef cubes with flour, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a Dutch oven over medium-high heat and sear the seasoned beef until golden brown on all sides. Remove from pot.
  3. Sauté celery, onions, and garlic in the same pot until softened. Stir in tomato paste and roast beef base paste for a few minutes.
  4. Add beef stock and fresh herbs; bring to a simmer before covering and cooking on medium-low heat for 2 hours.
  5. After two hours, add cubed potatoes and chopped carrots; continue cooking for another 30 to 45 minutes until vegetables are tender.
