  5. Chill both dough halves separately for at least 30 minutes.
  6. Roll out each half into rectangles; layer them together and roll into a log shape.
  7. Chill the log again for at least two hours before slicing into rounds.
  8. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Slice the log into cookies, decorate if desired, and bake for 8-10 minutes until edges are lightly golden.
