  • 1 teaspoon maple extract
  • 1 cup chopped pecans (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1/3 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1 cup sifted confectioners’ sugar
  • pinch salt, to taste

Instructions

  1. Whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.
  2. Cream butter and brown sugar until smooth; add egg, maple syrup, vanilla, and beat until combined.
  3. Gradually mix dry ingredients into wet ingredients; fold in chopped pecans.
  4. Chill dough for at least 2 hours.
