Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 to 2 lbs chicken wings
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup cooking sake (or rice apple vinegar)
  • 1 tablespoon mirin
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil

Instructions

  1. Clean and pat dry the chicken wings. In a mixing bowl, combine marinade ingredients: soy sauce, cooking sake, sesame oil, scallions, black pepper, and ginger. Add wings and coat well; marinate in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Preheat oven to 400°F (207°C). Prepare the glaze by combining honey, soy sauce, mirin, and cooking sake in a saucepan over low heat until slightly thickened.
  3. Arrange marinated wings on a baking sheet in a single layer. Bake for 10 minutes; brush half of the glaze on wings and bake for another 10 minutes. Brush remaining glaze and bake for an additional 10-12 minutes until golden brown.
  4. Serve immediately garnished with white sesame seeds.
