Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1 lb / 450g)
  • 8 oz (225g) penne or fusilli pasta
  • 3 tablespoons honey (raw, local preferred)
  • 2 teaspoons freshly cracked black pepper
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta: Bring salted water to a boil, add pasta, and cook until al dente (usually 9-11 minutes). Drain and reserve ½ cup of pasta water.
  2. Prepare the chicken: Slice chicken into thin strips. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat; add chicken and season with salt. Cook for 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from skillet.
  3. Make the sauce: In the same skillet, sauté minced garlic for about a minute until fragrant. Stir in honey, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using) and let bubble for a minute.
  4. Combine: Return chicken to skillet; toss with sauce. Add drained pasta and reserved pasta water to achieve desired consistency.
  5. Serve: Sprinkle fresh parsley on top before serving.
