  • 1 pound shrimp (peeled and deveined)
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 medium lime (juiced)
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 2 teaspoons chili powder
  • ½ teaspoon cumin powder
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
  • for serving: fresh lime wedges, 1 medium avocado

Instructions

  1. Soak wooden skewers in water for at least 30 minutes.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine honey, vegetable oil, lime juice, minced garlic, chili powder, cumin powder, paprika, salt, cayenne pepper, and cilantro.
  3. Add shrimp to the marinade and toss to coat evenly. Let marinate for about 10 minutes.
  4. Thread marinated shrimp onto soaked skewers.
  5. Preheat grill or grill pan over medium-high heat; lightly oil grates.
  6. Grill shrimp for 2-3 minutes on each side until pink and opaque.
  7. Serve warm with lime wedges and avocado.
