  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup apple cider
  • 1/3 cup water

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, granulated sugar, cinnamon, and ginger.
  3. In a large bowl, combine applesauce, milk, vegetable oil, molasses, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Stir the dry mixture into the wet mixture until just combined; do not overmix.
  5. Pour the batter into an 8×11-inch baking dish.
  6. In another bowl, mix brown sugar, granulated sugar, and ground cinnamon for the topping; sprinkle evenly over the batter.
  7. Carefully pour apple cider and water over the topping without stirring.
  8. Bake for about 40 minutes until set in the center.
  9. Allow to cool for 5–10 minutes before serving warm.
