Garlic Labneh is a creamy and tangy Middle Eastern dip that adds a bold flavor to any snacking occasion. This versatile yogurt-based dip is perfect for gatherings, serving as a delightful accompaniment to pita bread, fresh veggies, or grilled meats.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 500 g thick Greek yogurt
  • 1 tsp flaky salt
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 1/2 lemon (juiced)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Toasted pine nuts (for garnish)
  • Chopped parsley (for garnish)
  • Extra virgin olive oil (for drizzling)
  • Sumac (optional)

Instructions

  1. Line a fine mesh sieve with cheesecloth or thick kitchen roll and set it over a bowl. Pour in the yogurt and sprinkle with flaky salt. Press gently with a spoon to drain excess liquid for about 10-15 minutes until thickened.
  2. Transfer the thickened yogurt to a mixing bowl. Grate the garlic directly into the labneh, add lemon juice and olive oil, then mix well to combine.
  3. Spread the labneh onto a plate, top with toasted pine nuts and chopped parsley, and drizzle with extra virgin olive oil. Optionally sprinkle sumac on top before serving.
