  • 1 3/4 cup fresh milled soft white wheat
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp pumpkin spice
  • 1/2 cup pumpkin puree
  • 6 tbsp cold butter, grated
  • 3 tbsp half and half
  • 1 large egg
  • For the glaze: 1 cup powdered sugar, 3 tbsp half and half, 1/4 cup arrowroot powder
  • Spiced Pumpkin Drizzle: 3/4 cup powdered sugar, 1 tbsp pure pumpkin puree, 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon, 1/8 tsp nutmeg, 1/8 tsp ginger, 2 tbsp half and half

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, mix together sugar, fresh milled soft white wheat, baking powder, salt, and pumpkin spice.
  3. Grate cold butter into the dry mixture and combine until crumbly.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together pumpkin puree, half and half, and egg until smooth.
  5. Combine wet ingredients with dry ingredients gently until just mixed.
  6. Turn out the dough onto a floured surface, shape into a circle about one inch thick, and cut into eight triangles.
  7. Bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown; cool completely before icing.
