Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large ripe bananas
  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 8 oz cream cheese
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan.
  2. In a bowl, mash the bananas; whisk in melted butter, then add brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla until smooth.
  3. In another bowl, combine flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon. Gradually stir into the banana mixture until just combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, beat cream cheese with sugar, egg, and vanilla until smooth.
  5. In a small bowl, mix together granulated sugar and cinnamon for swirling.
  6. Pour half of the banana batter into the prepared pan. Sprinkle half of the cinnamon-sugar mixture over it. Spread cream cheese filling on top and add remaining banana batter followed by the rest of the cinnamon-sugar mixture. Use a knife to swirl gently.
  7. Bake for 50–60 minutes until a toothpick inserted comes out clean (a little cream cheese is okay).
  8. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
