  • 1 1/22 pounds flank steak
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/4 cup reduced sodium soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup orange juice
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cumin
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp EACH salt, chili powder, onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp EACH pepper, cayenne pepper

Instructions

  1. In a small bag or container, combine the spice mix ingredients.
  2. For the marinade, whisk together marinade ingredients in a large freezer bag. Add part of the spice mix and seal with steak inside; refrigerate for 4-12 hours.
  3. When ready to grill, mix remaining spice mix with olive oil to create a rub.
  4. Remove steak from marinade, pat dry, apply rub evenly, and let rest at room temperature for about 30-60 minutes.
  5. Grill over medium-high heat for around 5-6 minutes per side until desired doneness.
  6. Let the steak rest for 10 minutes before slicing against the grain.
