Instructions

  1. Whisk together all-purpose flour, cake flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cornstarch in a medium bowl.
  2. In a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, beat room-temperature butter until creamy. Gradually add granulated and brown sugars, beating until light and fluffy.
  3. Mix in one egg, one egg yolk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture on low speed until just combined.
